Move over Mia Hamm

So it's official that Casey made the LRFC classic soccer team (all-star). It was tough, trying out in front of coaches we never met before and doing drills we've never seen before. Casey is also playing up, she shouldn't have played until next year but they allow so many every year to tryout and play up if they make the cut. She's on the blue team, which is the better team as well! We're not feeling any pressure, nah, none. Bull!!! Actually they don't start until August so we have plenty of time to prepare. Wish us luck!! Gooooo Casey!

I know I have been the biggest slacker when it has come to posting this month. And believe me, I know I'm not any more busy than anyone else so I have no good excuses! The kids have both started basketball which has been fun (okay dammit I will e-mail you schedules soon!). Connor finished cotillion and we had the holly ball (pictured is Connor with 2 classmates-Melissa and Kendall). Let me tell you, he can DANCE. Definitely did not get his daddies rhythm. Heh heh.

Anyway, school's out next week and I must get my butt in gear getting ready for Christmas.

Happy Birthday Casey

Happy Birthday to my Boo Boo! She turns the big 9 today. I can't believe it has been 9 years!!!

Casey is back from camp. Worn out. Connor left yesterday for camp. Wound up. So now I get to spend a week with Casey. I have no new lists for this week because I'm sure she'll keep me busy. I would have posted the picture of Joe trying to drag Little Kitty out of his house the other day but Stinkydog's pictures of her dogs were much more hysterical! Have a good week.

Camp Casey

Casey left for this camp yesterday. Won't be home until Saturday afternoon. She didn't seem to have any trouble throwing her stuff on her bunk and headed out to show her friend from school where everything was. She hugged Connor twice and barely waved me off saying BYE! as loud as she could as if I couldn't get the hint. Something is up with blogger this morning. I'll post pics later.

Saturday mornings

Despite being sick this week Casey wasn't about to miss making me breakfast again today. She's quite good at it. Scrambled eggs and a piece of toast. Yummy. If I knew she was good with turning on the stove I might sleep in and let her bring it to me. Instead, I'm usually wide eyed by 7 a.m. at any little noise I hear not knowing if it's her beating us downstairs. The best part, she loves to do the dishes.

Did you know notes like this get you sent to the principals office? Guess who. Yeah, Casey passed this note to a friend. Okay, it was ugly. They actual note said 'do you think Brianna is a spoiled brat?' Her friend circled yes, and then Brianna got a hold of it and took it to the teacher. The only one sent to the principals office? Casey. I mean, who gives a SHIT? Honestly, this Brianna is a spoiled brat. She antagonizes Casey constantly when I'm up there at lunch or recess. She will ask what we're doing for the weekend and then she'll go on for 30 minutes about what she's doing that's so much better (in her opinion and words). I know without a doubt she's looking for attention in all the wrong places but of course Casey just gets jealous. What do you do? So poor Casey was sent to the office again over something so freakin' stupid!! Do you agree, yes or no?

The newest Apple

Have you seen the latest in laptops? I found this one in my daughters backpack today. Isn't it great? Casey has always had a great imagination. When she wants something and doesn't get it she's good at making it or pretending. Much like we used to do before nintendo, playstation, or Wii was invented. Casey can draw and color to no end. When I pulled this out this morning it made us all laugh. Oh, and you can have yours custom colored for a small fee of $1, shipping and handling extra. Colors vary depending on what crayons she has left in her bag. Allow one week for delivery! LOL!

Every Family's got one...

Yeah, every family I know has got one of those people that well let's say is ....a little misbehaved. A 'black sheep' or sorts. I really don't want to call them a criminal, but you know the one who's always up to something. Mine is Casey, yeah that cute little buck toothed kid who hugs constantly and smiles and goes to three different churches on most sundays. Yeah, she's borderline criminal. According to her school. Today I get a call from the principal saying that she wrote on the walls in the girls restroom in the gym. And wrote about another girl, something about not liking what she likes or something. So they marched my child and her sidekick (she had an accomplice) down to the gym and made them wash it off and then sit in the principals office during all of recess. Isn't that terrrible? At least she didn't threaten to kill anyone today.

Casey made a very important observation last night while we were eating pizza. A man came in the restraunt and sat down with his back to us. Casey leaned over and called it to my attention that he had a dirty word on the back of his hat. We must have been obvious looking for it because a lady at the table looked at us and very loudly announced it stood for Billy Sheldon. Not bullshit.

Basketball

Today was Casey's first time to play a basketball game. I was very curious to see how this would go. She loves soccer and can play a mean game, but I've always been her coach. I wasn't sure how she would take being yelled at by someone other than me, and how would she take their directions? She seems like a natural at soccer, barely even being told half the time what to do. So here we go. She was a starting player. She did great, she played defense against a girl a whole head taller than her and never backed down. You can tell she's fearless out there! She played and played and never seemed to get upset if she didn't make a basket. It was pretty darn funny though because she kept guarding that girl even when her team had the ball. We will work on that. But all and all I thought she was very good. Of course she got a green star for best defense! On the other hand, Connor's team at Holy Souls is ranked #2 overall in the league. They have only lost one game so far, and that was by one point in the last few seconds of the game.
